These are subject files kept by the governor's legal advisors on legislation and legal issues supported by or of interest to the governor. The files contain intra-office memoranda, correspondence, contracts, speeches, and research material. Topics include child abuse, a state lottery, the Confederate flag, line-item veto and the appointment of attorneys to represent state agencies. Most of the material was created by or acquired by legal advisor, Mark Hess. There is also a section of files pertaining specifically to state agencies.
